PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST


Be responsible for delivering "Instant-ON" Java System Suites Solutions Stacks leveraging Solaris 10 and Java ES Software, as well as tools and Methodologies enabling volume distribution leveraging channels and partners.

MDE engineering Team will leverage existing products and Tools to achieve this mission. Purpose is to leverage existing assets, Solaris 10, Java System Suites, Reference Architectures, and Reusable Solutions to deliver Repeatable Pre-Installed, Pre-Configured and Pre-Qualified Solutions Stacks.

Team will also validate and support necessary tools enabling volume distribution (Bootable DVD, Online Delivery SDLC, Bootnet Tools, N1SPS, CNS...).

Looking for a PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST that will contribute to Java Web Infrastructure Suite Solaris 10 "Instant-On" solution Stack.

Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Primary responsibilities and accountabilities.)

* Deliver Java System Suite "Instant-On" Integrated Software Image
* Help to define strategy for CEP Program
* Work with peers and other development teams in a distributed environment to get the relevant Software, coordinate deliverables and resolve issues (Solaris/Java WIS/Point Products..)
* Contributes to project plan definition, project schedule, long term strategies

Role/Outputs:

* Install the Solution Lab corresponding to the targeted solution Software Image
* Design and Develop S10-Java WIS software Image "Pre-Installed" & "Pre-Configured"
* Get Sizing & Performance Figures (BTO Parameters)
* Work within a distributed team.
* Provide management with schedule and status information
* Ensure that projects meet the highest quality standards
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Take on multiple complex tasks and complete with minimum of supervision

THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ARE TYPICALLY ACQUIRED THROUGH:
Typical numbers of years of relevant experience: BSc 7+ Years or MSc 5+ years
Minimum level of education: BSc
Fields of study: Engineering Schools, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering...

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Excellent programming skills 5 Years minimum (C/java/perl/shell)
Unix/Solaris System Administration (installation and configuration)
Technical Knowledge of the Java Enterprise System software stack
Installation and configuration of Software products and technologies
with little or no supervision.
Software design and architecture
Project planning skills
Strong written and verbal skills (English is a must)
Exposure to all areas of project development cycle
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Team Leading skills is a plus

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

* Solaris 10 x64, x64 Jumpstart and Bootnet Technologies, WANBoot.
* Java ES installation, silent configuration, Testing and Qualification are a plus.
* Solaris (on user level) Linux and/or other flavors of Unix
* Have strong design and development skills with 5+ years relevant industry experience
* Have an indepth understanding of Unix development (pref Solaris) in C/C++ to system level
* Have an indepth understanding of web services technologies and tools
* Have experience working as part of a distributed team, and working closely with other groups
* Be an effective communicator, capable of dealing with people at all levels
* Be a team player, motivated and capable of mentoring junior engineers
Must have EU passport.
