Oracle DBA

Expert Consulting, a full service IT consulting company, is looking for a qualified Oracle DBA to join our team. The selected individual will work in a group of DBAs (both on-site and remote) supporting a global pharmaceutical client. The job site is located in Bad Homburg, Germany (17 KM North of Frankfurt). Job Description: This is a full-time server DBA engagement. The selected individual will be involved into daily DBA activities: setting up/changing/deactivating/deleting user accounts, fine-tuning databases, monitoring the database, performing scheduled data backups, recovering data, migrating data, creating and upgrading databases. The individual will be required to respond to service calls and trouble tickets within the specified timeframe and to resolve low/med/hi severity issues. All communications will be performed via phone and e-mail.

Required Skill Set: •Excellent English reading, writing and speaking skills •3+ years Oracle DBA experience •3+ years experience with Unix, Windows, and VMS •Unix K Shell •Perl Scripting •Database monitoring •Database tuning •Experience in application DBA role •Experience in server DBA role Desired Skill Set: •SQL Server DBA experience •Good interpersonal and communication skills •Previous pharmaceutical (or other regulated environment) experience •Very detail oriented •Understanding of ITIL and/or Six Sigma methodologies
